Douglas Oldmixon, Lt Col, USAFR (retired) is a real estate consultant and business strategist currently serving as the CEO of Lawyers Realty USA, headquartered in Texas. Licensed as both an attorney and real estate broker since 1985, he is experienced in most major sectors of the real estate industry: including law, regulatory policy, finance, development, investments, and portfolio management.
With extensive experience in highly complex real estate issues, military operations, and public service, Oldmixon has earned a reputation for dedicated integrity, strategic innovation, and effective change management. Before his current role, he served as Executive Director of the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and Commissioner of the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board (TALCB) from 2009 to 2019. Under his leadership, each agency’s technology, operational efficiency, governing rules, and statutes were significantly updated and improved, and both achieved unprecedented levels of financial stability. He was also elected to serve on the boards of the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO) and the Association of Appraiser Regulatory Officials (AARO).
Lt Col Oldmixon served the Air Force for over 26 years, including two tours of combat duty in Iraq following the tragedy of September 11th. Also a veteran of Desert Storm, Oldmixon began his significant career in board governance as the Executive Director of the Texas Veterans Land Board from 2000 to 2003, and has served in leadership roles for multiple boards and foundations for over 25 years, including for several veterans’ organizations.
Doug has been an active member and officer of the Knights of Columbus for over 40 years, serving as the State Deputy for Texas from 2016-2108. He currently resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Jo-Dee Benson. They are the generous founders of the Father Vincent R. Capodanno, LT(CHC) USNR/MC Co-Sponsored Seminarian Endowed Scholarship, and Gold Patrons of the Saint John XXIII Foundation.
