Annual Fund

Gifts to the Annual Fund directly support the Saint John XXIII Foundation’s mission to serve Catholics in the Armed Forces, VA medical centers, and U.S. government service abroad. This fund allows the Foundation to respond to immediate needs by supporting programs that strengthen the pastoral care of the faithful serving around the world.

General Endowed Fund

Gifts to the General Endowed Fund provide lasting support for Catholic military and VA chaplaincy. Invested for long-term growth, these funds generate annual income that sustains the Foundation’s mission for years to come.

Co-Sponsored Seminarian Scholarships

Gifts to Co-Sponsored Seminarian Scholarships help form future military chaplains. Through endowment support, these funds provide lasting resources for the education and formation of seminarians called to serve those in uniform.

Patrons of the Foundation

Where does my gift to the Saint John XXIII Foundation go?

Gifts made to the Foundation in accordance with donor intent and the Foundation’s mission. The Foundation thereafter makes grants to the Archdiocese from gifts designated to current-needs projects or from a portion of the income from the investment portfolio. Donors may choose to support annual funding initiatives or contribute to the Foundation’s endowment, which is invested to provide long-term financial support for future grants and ministry initiatives benefiting the Archdiocese for the Military Services.

Our Patronage

The Foundation honors the life and ministry of Pope Saint John XXIII, Il Papa Buono (The Good Pope), who served as an army medic and military chaplain during World War I.
