Jim is the former Commander of United States Space Command, the nation’s 11th, and newest Combatant Command.
During his tenure, Jim led US Space Command to full operational capability that enabled the command to provide strategic effects in support of the National Command Authority. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of staff and command positions in space and missile defense. Jim has commanded at every level from battery to combatant command.
After a 38-year career, he retired from the US Army and lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jim is married with four adult children and seven grandchildren.
