Membership open to individuals or couples who contribute or pledge $25,000 or more in perpetual support for Catholic ministry to those who serve
Patrons are individuals or couples who contribute a gift or pledge of $25,000 or more to an endowed fund at the Foundation, including a Co-sponsored Seminarian Endowed Scholarship or the Foundation’s General Endowed Fund. By their gift, Patrons make a perpetual investment into the Foundation’s mission of “Nourishing the Faith of Catholics in the Armed Forces and Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Centers”.
The investment income generated annually by the Endowment of the Saint John XXIII Foundation supports various projects and programs in line with the Foundation’s mission including the education and formation of seminarians who will serve as Catholic U.S. Military Chaplains, underwriting the costs of Youth and Young Adult Ministry projects and programs, and the education and formation of Catholic Priests who will minister to patients in the VA Medical Centers.
There are 4 levels of Patrons:
- Bronze Patron for a gift/pledge of $25,000.00;
- Silver Patron for a gift/pledge of $50,000.00;
- Gold Patron for a gift/pledge of $75,000.00;
- Platinum Patron for a gift/pledge of $100,000.
Patron Pledges can be paid over a period of up to five years and Patrons can elevate their support level by adding to an existing gift or pledge.
The Board of Directors created the title of “Honorary Patron of the Saint John XXIII Foundation” to recognize individuals who, by giving of talent or treasure, have created an enduring legacy of support for the practice of the faith for Catholics in the Armed Forces, patients in Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, and United States government personnel serving outside of the United States.
In Chicago, IL, on June 8, 2023, the Foundation will host an Inaugural Patron Reception, during which new Patrons will be recognized and welcomed into the giving society. The evening is an opportunity to welcome new Patrons and to celebrate the work of the Saint John XXIII Foundation.
